"If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child." - Unknown
Rachelle, (camera left), loves her little sister, Jesse. According to their mother, Shelley, when they were small Rachelle took great pleasure in rough-housing with her younger sibling. Although Jesse didn't say much when she was small, she knew the words "Let her go!" when Rachelle was getting a little too rough with her. It's true children repeat what they hear!
Now that they are older, they cosplay together at FanCon every year as either twin or sibling characters from different animes, cartoons or movies. Since Jesse is super into horror right now, Rachelle says she is lucky to get to watch all the movies with Jesse.
It was fun to hear Jesse tell the backstory to Friday the 13th, a movie I was too scared to watch.
Both women live in Prince George. I met Rachelle in 2005 when she graduated with my niece, Kendall. It amazes me how all grown up these girls have become. Both Rachelle and Jesse love to travel and have been to Europe, and Rachelle has been to Japan!
Below are a few behind-the-scenes images and some from the main shoot. These two sisters were born eighteen months apart and so much fun to photograph as part of my Sisters Project!
I want to celebrate sisterhood by creating a beautiful coffee table book of gorgeous photos of wonderful sisters! It will be of sisters and their stories. From young to ageless, it doesn't matter.
To submit for consideration to be part of this project, please click on the form button, fill in a few details, answer a few questions, and I will be in touch! If you and your sister are selected to participate, there will be a $50 non-refundable fee to hold your spot, and this will become a print credit towards product purchases from the session.
Once the book is finished, let's all get together and have a party! So who wants to be photographed by me and become part of my book? All you need is a willing sister (she has to be your sister!) and a day to play with me. I'm looking forward to meeting you both!
