"Sister is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship." ~ Margaret Mead
Stacie and Shelley were the first to sign up for my Sisters Project and I was excited to create our session. They are both in their 40's with such vibrant personalities and athletic abilities. It was fun to create a poster of the two of them squaring off to each other with their equipment of their sport of choice.
On the submission form there are thirty questions to choose from and I encourage my sisters to select five to answer.
So far, this one is the most amazing response to "What is your favourite memory together?" Stacie answers "It was one cold snowy evening about 30 years ago, Shelley (approx. age 10) and I (approx age 12) were outside shoveling the driveway after a large snow fall. Time stood still for a moment as we both witnessed a low flying object. Yes a UFO. It as saucer shaped with a variety of coloured lights. It hovered for a few seconds (which seemed like eternity) and then it zipped away. To this day, every time we tell our story, people look at us strangely, but we know what we seen, and stand by our story 100%."
Hmmm, maybe the mothership was full so they decided to leave the girls alone that night. Or maybe it was just too cold outside for them to attempt contact. Whatever their reason, I'm so happy they left the girls alone!
Below are a few images from our session. These two gorgeous women were so much fun to photograph as part of my Sisters Project!
I want to celebrate sisterhood by creating a beautiful coffee table book of gorgeous photos of wonderful sisters! It will be of sisters and their stories. From young to ageless, it doesn't matter.
To submit for consideration to be part of this project, please click on the form button, fill in a few details, answer a few questions, and I will be in touch! If you and your sister are selected to participate, there will be a $50 non-refundable fee to hold your spot, and this will become a print credit towards product purchases from the session.
Once the book is finished, let's all get together and have a party! So who wants to be photographed by me and become part of my book? All you need is a willing sister (she has to be your sister!) and a day to play with me. I'm looking forward to meeting you both!
