This is Jasmine. She came to me for a few headshots for her acting portfolio. Only 25 years old, and making her way in the world on her own terms.
Jasmine wanted both in-studio and outdoor images so she would have a variety to use over the next year on her Social Media and portfolio. By using a few changes of clothes and finding a couple different locations we were able to get over 40 images to choose from. (After I did an initial cull to present the best ones at her viewing session!) She managed to choose 14 of her favourites which gave her enough variety to spread them out over one to two years. As long a she doesn't cut her beautiful hair! With the increased order, I was able to bundle it up with Social Media Profile sized files to save her time when she was ready to upload her images to the different platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, 500px, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn, 120 in total! Bonus for her!
I couldn't find a bad side! With her hair and makeup looking perfect, it was easy to create different poses under the one-light, one reflector setup I decided to use.
She wanted five images and so with the variety we shot in the two hours we had together, we created many more, both in-studio and outdoors. The light was beautiful outside with a soft overcast day, making here gorgeous skin glow. Editing is so much easier with proper lighting like that!
When Jasmine booked her session I asked if she had professional photos made before and she hadn't. But she was a real pro under the lights, needed very little direction because of her years of acting skills, and her easy-going nature made it a pleasure to work with her. Good luck, Jasmine! I want an invitation to your Premiere when that happens!
