I counted 59 poppies in my garden today. I think that's pretty special. And since I will be 59 today, and I was born in 1959, that makes it my Beddian Birthday. Now that must be extra special!
If you want to know more about firefighter Bobby Beddia's theorem, you can read about him here. A Beddian Birthday is basically the result of doubling a number, as in born in 1959, turning 59. So if we add my birth year and my age we get my Beddian Birthday year. 1959+59=2018. How cool is that? And the sum of any two identical numbers is an even number, therefore, a Beddian Birthday can only fall in an even-numbered year and never in an odd-numbered year.
So I am considering this to be my lucky year! Today, my lucky day! And a life-changing day as well.
Today is the day I announce my retirement from my full-time admin position with BC Assessment. In less than two weeks, I will be fully focused on my photography career. I wonder how many years I will be packing around a camera. I wonder what the camera will look like in ten, twenty, thirty years!
"Yellow Roses 1" and "Yellow Roses 2"
Yellow roses are my all-time favourite flower. My mother had a square china plate called Yellow Roses and when I was twelve my aunt told my sister, her daughter and I that the first to get married would get her set of Yellow Roses. Well, being the first to get married, I got the set! I've tried to grow these beauties but haven't been successful. Whenever I receive a bouquet of them I let them dry as I hate to toss them out.
